In our modern jet-set world which is set in a fast-paced scenario, it would indeed be a tall order to tell people to veer off the beaten track and to take the paths which may help one to leave a trail. The common man may aver that life is already ridden with traumas and uncertainties without having to additionally combat obstacles and hurdles in new ventures.

However, if everyone thought like this and refrained from "thinking out of the box" on account of bottlenecks, what would have happened to life's inexorable challenges? If it were not for the talented geniuses who dared to dream big and blight obstacles, we would have been bereft of many of life's marvels.

Take, for example, Thomas Alva Edison. What if he had given up on the second or third failure and decided to call it quits? We would have now been bereft of the discovery of the incandescent electric bulb.

Yes, stalwarts like Abraham Lincoln, Dhirubhai Ambani, Steve Jobs, J K Rowling (to name a few) have weathered storms enough to daunt the bravest, yet they never gave up on their passions. Their own achievements have helped considerably in making the world a more beautiful and awesome place.

One could easily opine that the above personalities were marked for greatness, but it would be judicious for one to realise that even the common man need necessarily to step out of his safe, comfort zones where it appears that perfection reigns. There are bound to be situations where one has to take a stand and a stance. At such times, it is good if one takes the path less travelled and possesses a gut feeling to follow one's dream to fruition aided by zeal and hard work.

One should not blindly make decisions which could turn awry. Instead, one should be willing to be adventurous and courageous enough to take the road less travelled. It is a great tragedy if one has the tools for success but not the courage. One should ruminate on the following quotation, "It's the heart afraid of breaking that never learns to dance; It's the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance; It is one who won't be taken who cannot seem to give and the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live."
